I'm noticing more and more that when I mention that I will be living at home for university there seems to be some apprehension or pity from people. I find it kind of puzzling, but also surprised at how many people will be going to live on residence or in an apartment etc for university. But of course, being me, I wonder. Does this make me less of a person? Well thats not the right way to say it, more like does it make me seem less grown up or ready to move on than other people. Most people don't realize that the choice to live at home isn't purely mine its more on the cost of it. Not that I need to completely justify it but I won't be living too poorly either. As its only me, my mom and dad in a four bedroom house. That plus free laundry, internet and food chalks up to be a win win situation for me. No?

You don't have to be a sheep and do what others do.
In fact you'll like as not do much better for having decided not to go with the flow.
And just think of the guys who are going to want to come home with you for a bit of mum's cooking! It's the ideal chat-up line . . .
'Oh I live in this four bedroom house with blah and blah and blah - and have staff who cook all my meals . . .'
I reckon that once some of your friends have tried catering for themselves and have spent all their money of wine and song then you'll have a steady queue of boys wanting to have a night in a nice clean, well looked-after place.
I'll be enrolled in college this fall as well. Fortunately for me, cost isn't an issue, so I will be staying on campus even though I'm just a train ride away from home.
I feel that while there isn't a difference, it helps to be on campus if you want to experience life with a roommate. Other than that you shouldn't worry. Just remember to be involved in on campus life and enjoy the next four years of life as much as you can.
Love the blog, by the way :)
